I bought this clock about three years ago. It has worked great. All I had to do was change the batteries once in a while. Now, the outside sensor has died. If you read the reviews of this unit and other similar units sold by La Crosse, you will see that there is a persistent problem with the outside sensor. So, if you buy, beware that it may not be fully functional for long. My unit works fine except for the outside sensor.

This clock is a quality product, it not only looks great but performs to the same standard. The finish is very nice, will look elegant and yet almost techy in any room. It was a great addition to the master bedroom for my house.

Setting the clock up was fairly simple, however it does take a good 3 to 4 hours to pick up signal for the time and date to be accurate, but after that it has been faultless. The indoor and outdoor temperature seem to be very accurate with what tests I did with the air conditioning and the outside weather temperate in my car.

The only few drawbacks that I would mention is that when setting up the clock, the user has to place batteries in the external outside temp sensor first then in the actual clock unit itself. This is not a problem until the batteries ( which have not run out yet) need replacing in the outside señor, then you must replace the batteries in the sensor from outside and go back in the room, dismount the clock off the wall or wherever you may have it placed, and take out the batteries, put them back in to reset the clock, which in turn will then take a couple hours to pick up the radio signal for the time and date.

Also the viewing angles of the screen are not very good as in if viewed from a odd angle it can be almost impossible to make out the time, this is a problem with the quality of the LCD used I would imagine.

Altogether, this is one of the best clocks out on the market. The positives much heavily over-power the negatives. Looks great, time and temperate both accurate at all times, quick easy glancable information at your eye-sights away.

This is a great product, easy to read the time from across the room or garage, and the temperature readings are so handy I bought a second one. It's got date and moon phases, which is one more feature then I really want, but everything is clear and simple.

Setup is confusing, just because the broadcast time needs an offset, and the year is not displayed, nor labeled, but needs to be set. It's not something that was difficult to find in the manual, nor to correct (setting is a breeze) but confusing enough that when I got the second clock I made the same mistakes and had to look in the manual again.

Incidentally, each of my two reads only it's own external temperature sensor, so there is no issue with having two clocks. For me I simply have two external sensors mounted together, but if you want multiple clocks to read multiple locations it's not a problem.

It would be nice if there were more temperature zones, but then again my multi-zone temperature gadget never works, is a lot more complex, and isn't a GIANT clock which is all I really wanted in the first place when purchasing this.

I left it on for three days-- no clock-setting signal was received. I live in a high rise apartment building in a city, -- maybe it works in a free-standing one family house. I returned it.

Bought it for my TX size bathroom - LOVE IT!! Now I can see the Time, Day & weather conditions before I get dressed - the only thing I would wish to improve this item (thus 4 instead of 5 stars)is having a back lite option on it & maybe a wider choice of frame colors (like a gold/brass or even a wood) because then I may have purchased 2 or 3 for other areas of my home. But definitely a product I'm happy with & would recommend.

For latinoamerican customers:Positive: The time is exact. The temperature is displayed in celsius degrees too. The Spanish function for the day name. It looks nice.Negative: The LCD screen is very poor. I live in the Andes mountains of Ecuador (2850 mts high) and I think the indoor temperature is not right because 16 C degrees are normal here in the day but the sensor reads 20 degreees, so maybe this device works better in farenheit degrees.

The outdoor thermostat fails constantly, 2010-09-18

Over the past 2-3 years I have bought 6 of these clocks/thermometers.
Two as gifts and one for myself.
I really only wanted to buy three, but in the first 3, the outdoor thermostat failed for each of them after about a year.
New batteries and resets did not fix the problem.
So I ordered 3 more clocks, thinking at first that I had just gotten a lemon.
(I tried to find just the outdoor unit, but it is hard to find and costs almost as much as the whole unit.)

Out of these next 3, 2 of them had a failing outdoor thermometer within a year.
The last one I ordered has been working for well over a year.
In 5 of the 6 cases, the outdoor thermostat was mounted in a porch and was not directly subjected to the weather.

The atomic clock and the indoor thermostat on all of these have always worked well.
They have never given a problem.

But the outdoor thermostat is not reliable. And that was a main reason for buying this unit.
I cannot recommend it.

Read the Instructions. Stick in the batteries. Wait for the "Atomic" clock to find the server (say 10 minutes). Hang up the outside sensor. Set the Time Zone. Enjoy. Everything works exactly as it should...at least for the past several months. We even ordered another for a gift. Both the product and the purchase source are excellent. Large and easy to read (important for those who have difficulty seeing well). I can recommend it highly.

Works well - shipped quick - please note, there seems to be two models of clocks out there and are simular, this ones face is a bit smaller and has a numeric month and not alpha.

I purchased two of these about six months ago. I am very fond of them all around, and would prefer to give them five stars, except one of them stopped working.Perhaps it is just luck of the draw. The one that stopped working had trouble reading the outdoor temperature, and required me to change the batteries four or five times before it died. The other one has worked flawlessly since I have had it, without having to change the batteries at all. The two clocks sit on opposite sides of a doorway, with six inches of wall in between them, so their relative locations shouldn't have any impact.Aside from one of them breaking a little sooner than I would expect, they are great clocks. They do everything I could ask for out of a 30 dollar product. They give you a lot of quick information at a glance, they don't need to be adjusted for daylight savings time, and most importantly they don't make any noise. This is important, as ticking clocks inspire vivid fantasies of their destruction to unfold within my mind.
